Who we are
Cowry Halls Publishing is dedicated to Afro-Latin spirituality and traditional writers, offering a home for voices that honor spirit, culture, and lived experience. We carefully select and create books that speak directly to our community, giving readers work that feels familiar, useful, and sacred. We serve writers, authors, and creators with professional support at every step, helping you move your book from idea to manuscript to fully published work.
David Sosa
Originally born in New York City and raised in Long Island, David Sosa is a practitioner of the spiritual arts since he was a teenager. An avid practitioner of the Mesa Blanca system of Espiritismo and an initiate of the Orisha Oshun in La Regla de Ocha, David provides friendly, understandable knowledge of every day issues and thoughts in the realm of spirit.
Andres Chulisi Rodriguez
Andres is a lifelong Espiritista from a family of practitioners and a crowned priest of Shango. A survivor of abuse and drug addiction, he fought hard not to be swallowed by silence or despair, and now writes about spirit as a living, daily path back to dignity, strength, and self-respect. As a writer and publisher at Cowry Halls Publishing, he is committed to lifting up voices and stories that might otherwise go unheard. In his separate work of personal essays and poetry, he tells the truth of his own journey in raw detail, offering proof that healing is possible. A community advocate, actor, musician, and performer, Andres uses every part of his art and practice to open space for hope wherever he can.
